In the heart of the Cité Universelle, the sports hall, a large-scale sports facility, is a unique opportunity offered to users of the building and surroundings to meet Paralympic champions who will regularly come to train in this new adapted space, managed by the club CAPSAAA. A vibrant place for relaxation and team building, this sports hall is a structuring element of the qualityof life and a symbol of the dynamic of the Cité Universelle, inside and outside the venue.
The Cité Universelle goes beyond current aspirations in terms of workspaces: it combines a meaningful concept, a rich ecosystem and a diversity of uses.
Its very large, flexible, open-plan floors encourage discussion and creativity, while offering optimum conditions of well-being thanks to an inclusive design: excellent acoustic treatment, elimination of thresholds, intuitive guidance, optimised air quality, etc.
With accessible terraces spread across the different levels and a rooftop garden, it creates a permanent link with the outdoors, extending the working experience beyond the walls.
To meet the growing need for modularity and dynamism, the Cité Universelle also includes a coworking space. Adapted to changing uses, it welcomes freelancers, start-ups, teleworkers and project teams, generating a vibrant atmosphere conducive to exchange and innovation. The space becomes a veritable catalyst for creativity, where interaction stimulates fruitful collaboration.
At the same time, the Cité Universelle is an ideal location for those involved in higher education and vocational training.
With lots ranging from 1,500 to 10,000 m² spread over just three levels, it can accommodate up to 2,100 students, in addition to teaching staff and staff.
These highly modular areas are designed to be tailored to the needs of the educational teams and future learners (lecture theatres, auditoriums, classrooms, but also places to live, share and meet, outdoor areas, etc.).
All of which, in keeping with the DNA of the Cité Universelle, will be accessible to all types of disability.
Finally, the exceptional experience of being close to the sports hall and its extraordinary athletes will give students the chance to experience inclusion on a daily basis, because inclusion is something you learn by doing, through sport.
Having a hotel inside Cité Universelle is a major asset for companies that choose this new, iconic location in the capital to set up their offices. The exceptional view of the skyline from the rooftop makes this newcomer to the Parisian hotel scene the latest place to be. But it is also about having access to top-of-the-range hotel services, all day, every day: catering, bar, breakfast, seminars and, of course, stays of varying lengths for employees or partners of the company. This quality of service and hospitality will enable everyone to experience and share unique moments simply by moving from one floor to another.
Cité Universelle has reserved a choice location in its base, opening onto the public domain, to accommodate either a restaurant or a themed shop. The planning will be decided in consultation with local residents and users, to meet their needs and enhance Cité Universelle's appeal.
The site being well connected and accessible to all owing to its inclusive design, offering health services was an obvious choice. As an answer to local needs and to complement the various facilities. This health centre allows all users and residents, whether or not they have a disability, to have easy access to a local medical service that is often lacking today. Although the specialities offered are standard, the specificity of this health centre lies in the training of carers to take account of disabilities. For example, treating the teeth of an autistic person requires the dentist to adapt their approach.
There is a real challenge for companies today: to reconnect with nature. Offering employees a sense of continuity in their working environment with planted outdoor spaces, gardens or terraces considerably changes their perception of their environment. We designed the shared roof garden in three parts: the edible garden, the honey-producing meadow and the hotel terrace, all of which are pockets of greenery and conviviality. Nature enhances creativity. Having large access to greeneries is something that is now greatly appreciated by the teams. It is also the chance to recreate an oasis of freshness in Paris on an extremely mineral site, and to be part of an urban vision that heralds a new quality of urban life. It may seem ambitious to introduce a biophilic strategy in an asset overlooking an urban motorway: Cité Universelle proves the contrary.
